WhatsApp User Base Continues to Grow

WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app in the world today, recently announced it has surpassed two billion users. The app, which is free to download and has no ads, has steadily increased its user base over the course of 11 years. After being purchased by Facebook six years ago for $19 billion, the app has focused on providing end to end encryption messaging for users everywhere around the world. There has been a number of countries and their governments advocating for the popular app to take down the encryption due to the security issues that arise from it. WhatsApp has publicly stated though that by removing encryption, they would simply be putting their users at more of a risk. Do you happen to agree with WhatsApp? Or do you side with the removal of encryption in messaging apps? Let us know your thoughts on all our social channels today!
