Add Kroger Co. to the list of companies looking to bring grocery shopping into the next century. The largest grocery chain in the U.S. has announced they will begin piloting autonomous vehicles to deliver groceries in Arizona. The tests will begin by placing drivers within the vehicles, but the second round will have the vehicles test deliver groceries without anyone physically in the car. Kroger will be testing these deliveries with the autonomous car company, Nuro. The push for this technology has been in high demand as Amazon has made strides towards seamless online shopping and naturally this delivery system has become the next expected add on. Unfortunately, we should expect to wait some time as these technologies will take rounds of testing in order to ensure they can even be allowed on the market.
