Dating app, Hinge, has just announced a new feature called, “We Met”. The new update will be released in an effort to improve recommendations based off user reviews. The users will be sent a message a few days after they meet with one another and they will be able to provide their feedback. With that information, the data will be implemented into Hinge’s matchmaking algorithm which will ultimately improve the users future selections. One of the biggest issues dating apps have seen since the industry has taken off has been the lifetime value of a user. By using a dating app, users are encouraged to find their life partner utilizing their platform, but as a result, they no longer find use for it once they’ve accomplished this goal. It will be interesting to see how the industry responds and provides updates in the future in response to this highlighted issue.
