Verkada; The Smart Security OS

Verkada, a cloud data & operating system startup, has recently raised $80 million in its Series C funding round. The company began when they realized how difficult it was to access their own security data when they themselves had a security breach and lost a number of hardware devices due to theft. The founders understood that if they built a system with simple AI capabilities, they could pose as a large competitor in the market space. With the latest capital raise, Verkada is now valued at approximately $1.6 billion. With the money, the company will be investing a large portion to enhancing its smart OS. One of the features include two-factor authentication where an individual attempting to access a building would not only provide a key badge, but would also need to be approved the security cameras facial recognition.
