Orai, an AI-powered communication coaching app, has raised $2.3 million in seed capital. The recent funding round was led by the San Francisco-based VC firm Comcast Ventures.
In a recent TechCrunch article, Orai’s CEO, Danish Dhamani, said he founded the Philadelphia startup with Paritosh Gupta and Aasim Sani to help people improve their communication skills in professional and personal environments.
Similar to speaking coaches and professional groups like Toastmasters International, the app’s algorithm analyzes a user’s speaking abilities and provide tips on how to improve.
Currently, Orai is available on the App Store and Google Play and offers a number of focused lessons.
Given the app’s ease of use and scalability, the Orai is seen as a potential solution for training large groups like sales forces and customer support staff. As a result, the tech startup has largely oriented its business model around selling its communication coaching tools to businesses.
Also, Orai has enlisted famous speaking coach Nancy Duarte to help advise the app’s future improvements.
