Google announced that all new android devices that come installed with either Android 9 or 10 will have YouTube Music preinstalled onto the device. To make matters even more interesting, Google Play Music will no longer come preinstalled on those devices. Google will still allow users to download the mobile app separately from the Play Store, but from the direction they seem to be moving towards, YouTube Music will be the predominant music streaming platform for Android devices. YouTube Music is looking to compete with its main competitors such as Apple Music and Spotify by providing users to listen ad-free and offline as well. It will also be launching a mobile app feature similar to Spotify’s called Discover Mix. Do you think Google’s collaboration with YouTube will continue to flourish?
